On September 8th, the Secretary General of OSCE, Marc Perrin de Brichambaut made an official visit to Georgia. After the visit, the official web site of OSCE spread the official statement of Secretary General.

By the request of Vera Kobalia’s department, Ozurgeti municipality board yielded the labored property to Socar Georgia Gas. As the economics expert, David Narmania states, the Chamber of Control should raise the responsibility of the head of the municipality board. According to the expert of local government, Otar Konjaria, the free yielding of the gas pipes belonging to Ozurgeti municipality ownership is unacceptable.

28 IDP families from Abkhazia have been living in the settlement near Zugdidi district hospital for many years. However, privatization of their accommodations has not started yet. Besides that, the water and fecal masses are leaking from the sewerage system for two months already and it causes terrible smell in the building. Because of the smell it is impossible to stand in the passage and rooms.

On September 8th, the Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet visited the village Odzisi bordering with Akhalgori. Paet was introduced to the current situation of the territory by the EU observers.

The UN General Assembly adopted resolution on the right of return for all IDPs and their descendants from Georgian breakaway regions, including Abkhazia and South Ossetia, regardless their ethnicity, reports the official web-site of UN.

The so-called military city of Senaki where there are 621 IDP families living, is the biggest IDP settlement in the Western Georgia. There are 1828 IDPs registered here. On August 27th, “Energo-pro Georgia” stopped providing them with the electricity. The IDPs were punished for not signing the company requests.

Once people called it the “cemetery of crutches”; now the resort-house “Menji” is completely destroyed. The process started several years ago. Initially, the members of the military formation “Mkhedrioni” and Guardia-men, who lived in it for some time, destroyed it; after the Georgian-Abkhaz armed conflict in 1990s the IDPs from Abkhazia sheltered in the buildings of the resort-house.  The property, which survived the civil war, was sacrificed to the negligence of the directors of the resort-house.

The area of the occupied territories of Georgia has increased by two more kilometers. Though our government doesn’t divulge this information, it’s been about two months now the Russian army units occupied the big part of Tvauri settlement in the village Lamisyana, Kaspi region and divided it by bank that hinders the residents to have an access to their homes. The big part of the rural land of Lamisyana happened to fall inside the occupied territory. So, it turns out that the Russian occupants are nearer to Tbilisi, precisely 24 kilometers afar.

“I have left Georgia because of personal security. But, I want to return there,” said the former vice-president of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia Leri Khabelov in his interview with Ossetian media sources; he added that he would be able to return to Georgia when the government changes.

After the local government elections, opposition parties stopped activities in Kvemo Kartli. Almost all the opposition party offices were closed down. “The main problem is the financing. Apparently, we see the need of the office, but can’t cover its expenses,” – states the regional representative of political party Freedom.

The bell rang only for 70 pupils in the public schools of Akhalgori district on September 1. Before their number were 700. The day became sad because of one more unpleasant news – Tskhinvali de-factor regime intends to remove Georgian language from the program of Russian schools in Akhalgori district.

About 60 IDP families from Abkhazia have been living in the national center of ophthalmology and neurology in Tbilisi for many years already. In 2007 the company New Hospital within PSP Group purchased the building and started construction of a new medical clinic in it. Consequently, the 39 IDP families are supposed to be evicted from the one part of the building.

The fiancé of the former head of the Kakheti region patrol police department Davit Tabutsadze - Natia Chkhartishvili was abducted from the Boryspil Airport in Ukraine. The information was reported by the Ukrainian newspaper “Ukrainskaya Pravda”. Natia Chkhartishvili is the daughter of the Georgian businessman Vano Chkhartishvili. According to the “Ukrainskaia Pravda” Natia Chkhartishvili was abducted by the Ukrainian security service (SBU) and the body guards of Tariel Vasadze.

The Interpresnews interviewed the director of the research institute of Georgian-Abkhaz relationships at the Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University Zurab Shengelia about his visit in Abkhazia. He was invited to Sokhumi by his Abkhaz partners and has recently returned to Tbilisi.

The Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia resettled 12 IDP families from Tbilisi to Potskhoetseri settlement without any preliminary dialogue and thorough discussion of the issue. This forced special operation was rather exile then settlement. There were two pregnant women, three infants, six under-age children and nine sick people among the evicted IDPs.

Rustavi mayor, Mamuka Chikovani presented his project at the second meeting of the newly elected City Council, one of the articles of which considers the financial support of the police. Specifically, Chikovani asked for permission to finance the technical necessities of police from the City Budget. For this purpose, he asked to make amendments in the #258 resolution of the former City Council.

78 year old Luba Korubkina spends nights at the ruins of her house. On August 9th, in Adlia, after her house was destroyed, she still doesn’t leave the territory and invites the head of Adjara government. Family lawyer, Irakli Shavadze states that Batumi City Hall misuses its authority. “No factual or legal basis exists for granting the right of expropriation to the City Hall,” – states lawyer and requests the punishment of guilty officials.

Teacher Certification Examination resulted in deplorable fact. Only the third of teachers could cross the minimal threshold of competence. Consequently, the rest won’t be able to get the certificates. Teachers feared that the exams won’t show good results even before the exams. The conducting of examination was considered to be a hastened step in the beginning.

The legal officers arrested the director of Tsinandali wine factory Sandro Megutnishvili. The Office of Prosecutor is accusing him of group act of hooliganism on a preliminary agreement and damaging the property of Constitutional Security Department official. According to the witnesses of incident, law-enforcement officials requested grapes from the wine factory that was refused by Sandro Megutnishvili, after which he was arrested.
