Two Sides of the New Bill

Last week, Parliament of Georgia started discussion of the new draft-law. It aims to add a special article to the Administrative Code, according to which a person will be fined for public insulting of religious affiliations of a person. The bill was largely criticized by nongovernmental organizations and MIA, its initiator, withdrew it back. MPs from the majority hope the shortcomings will be removed from the bill for the next hearing.
Draft-Law on Local Self-Government Presented to Gori Society

The draft-law initiated by the Government of Georgia, according to which towns with more than 15 000 population will receive status of self-governing town, was publicly discussed in Gori. If the bill is passed, Gori will receive the status and will elect the mayor.

Six Families Evicted from Kindergarten Building Live in Tents

Tents have been set up in front of the former building of the Rustavi Kindergarten # 35. Six families evicted from the building continue living in the tents. The building, where indigent families voluntarily lodged in, now belongs to the Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Refugees and Accommodation and it is being renovated to assign to IDPs.
