Residents of Village Mleta Taking Turns for Sleeping
The sufferers of the landslide in the village Mleta are afraid that the landslide erupt again in spring and destroy their houses. Last year, the landslide locked the river-bed and the water flooded the houses. Approximately 15 families were promised to be evacuated but the sufferers of the natural disaster still live in the destroyed houses.

The mini-bus drivers, who gave ride to the protest rally participants on May 9th in Kakheti by the order of Georgian Party, were deprived of their mini-buses. According to the drivers, the law-enforcement officials did not clarify the reason of the seizure of their mini-buses.

Protest rallies of the Georgian Party in Sagarejo, Gurjaani, Telavi and Kvareli districts were held yesterday and about 1 200 people participated in it. The organizers brought most participants from Tbilisi by mini-buses.

Mortality among Prisoners Increased at 50%
Number of dead prisoners in Georgian penitentiary system has increased at 50% from the previous year. The representatives of the Public Defender’s Office state mostly prisoners die because of late medical assistance. Tuberculosis, infections and breathing system problems are top diseases that kill prisoners.

Badri Khitarishvili, former commander of the transport unit of the fourth infantry brigade of the land force of the Defense Ministry of Georgia was intimidated in the General Headquarters as a denouncer; commander tore off the symbols of the fourth infantry brigade and badge of the military officer from the uniform, beat him and then fired from the Army.

The population of the village Aghtaklia of Gardabani region is concerned – how safe it was to build houses near the river Mtkvari. Due to abundant sediments, the river Mtkvari has flooded and put 9 houses in danger. The water has destroyed several crofts.
