The story begins like a fairy tale but ends as a melodrama. There are difficult conditions in the small town of Adigeni, which have resulted in many abandoned houses and in many young people leaving.
Population Went out in the Street Again

Protest demonstrations unleashed in Tbilisi. Population protests increased taxes on communal bills. On April 17 demonstration started simultaneously in front of the Parliament and Tbilisi City Hall. People of various professions took part in them. Their demand was-give us right to live.
Hunger Strike in Gori

Street traders have been on hunger strike for three days in Gori. Officials from the local government have not met them yet. Only two members of the Municipality, Davit Kekelishvili and Mamuka Davituliani visited the strikers. They promised the traders to find alternative place for them. The only ‘result’ of the hunger strike is medical aid’s frequent visits to strikers.

Sixty-year-old lonely person, Lamzira Burduladze has lived in a shell for many years. She has neither furniture nor any income except her pension. She applied for help several times in vain. Despite her extremely poor conditions, the social aid agency does not assist her. The reason is several rabbits the impoverished woman has.
People Deported from Russia Are being Evicted from Shelter

A family, deported form Russia, will remain without shelter. The Kvaratskhelias’ family expects the government to keep its promise on assisting the deported family; however nobody has paid attention to them yet. Moreover, they have been deprived from the right to live in a poor cellar of one of the dormitories.
Population of Ossetian Village Blames Government for Inattentiveness

There is fifteen kilometers between the village and the district center. The villagers have to walk that distance for two years already. Teachers come from the neighboring villages who work at the public school in Kitaani. The population of the village has petitioned to the government. The Ministry of Education sent a special bus to transport teachers and pupils but that bus is still a ‘prisoner’ in the yard of the school watchman.
Tbilisi State University’s Zugdidi Branch May Be Liquidated

“Zugdidi must turn into a town for universities,” this is a statement of Mikheil Saakashvili and it is put up on the walls in Zugdidi based institutes. A lot of things have changed since that statement was made. Only one out of ten high schools could obtain accreditation; that was Zugdidi Independent University. Because of lack of material base Tbilisi State University’s (TSU) Zugdidi branch could not obtain accreditation.

Today parliament discussed the draft law on Cultural Inheritance. It was the second sessionon that initiative; however they have not achieved any decision yet. Although the Government has reduced the tax from three lari to 1, 50 lari, the opposition protests that amount of fee either. They demand to estimate 0,50 lari as a maximum amount of the tax for a square meter.

Poti faces the risk of Hepatitis A. The number of sick people is gradually increasing at the Hospital for Infection. Ninety percent of patients are from the Kundzuli District in Poti. Epidemiologists think the source of the infection is polluted water. They also say that the situation is not currently urgent. Twenty-nine-year-old resident of Kvareli District, Tamar Gheleghutashvili, blamed present Governor of Kvareli District, Mamuka Kuprashvili, for cruel murder of her brothers, sixteen-year-old Kakha and thirteen-year-old Zakro Gheleghutashvilis. The terrible crime happened several years ago. The victim demands to renew the “frozen investigation” and to punish criminals.
