“The Human Rights Center’’ supports “Kavkasiuri Sakhli”
On August 2, in the center of cultural
relations “Kavkasiuri Sakhli” the supporters of the organization
gathered and protested against the possible cancellation of the
organization.

“Just because he has schizophrenia, they have concluded that he’s a murderer”
44 years old Aleksandre Ch is
diagnosed with schizophrenic disorders. Despite of this, he’s been
serving a sentence for murder of her mother in Rustavi #2 common and
strict regime department. According to Georgian legislation, (“The Law
on Psychiatric Help”), the prison administration is obliged to transfer
this kind of a prisoner to a special hospital. After the patient goes
through the treatment, he shall continue serving the sentence. There are
two hospitals serving this purpose in Georgia: in Kutiri and Gldani.

A Spy - Political persecution or Profitable Target?
On July 13, legal officers, with the
help of Special Forces, arrested the founder of the “Siesta” publishing
house and the director of the development company “Niba-Invest”. Bakur
Kiguradze, is accused of espionage based upon official information.
