Kutaisi Appeal Court Did Not Satisfy Appeal of Aslan Abashidze

Kutaisi appeal court did not satisfy the appeal of the former head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze.

Consequently, the decision of the Batumi City Court passed in 2007 was not changed; according to this judgment Aslan Abashidze was sentenced to 15-year-imprisonment.

Abashidze is blamed in abuse of his power, damage of the state property and misappropriation of the particularly large amount of state and public properties.

The former head of the autonomous republic is sought. He fled from Georgia six months after the Rose Revolution. According to the current information he shelters in Moscow.

The decision of the Kutaisi Appeal Court can be appealed at the Supreme Court of Georgia.
