Russian Defender Criticizes Gryzlov’s Statement with regard to Pensions

November 21, 2007

Moscow.20.11.07. Media News. Natalia Evdokimova, one of the heads of the Human Rights Council of Russia considers the decision made by Boris Gryzlov, Speaker of the State Duma, to be inhuman and uncivilized. According to the decision, the Russians nationals living outside the country should not have to receive Russian pensions.

Evdokimova states that if the Russian government takes the abovementioned decision it will be unlawful, because such decisions are in breach of the legislation of any civilized state.

It is worth mentioning that Gryzlov stated the following: “Somebody quietly accepts a Russian pension while living in another country at the same time, for instance in Georgia.”

Recently, Gryzlov declared that he accidentally used Georgia as an example since both “Georgia” and “Gryzlov” start with the letter “G”.
