Foreign Consultant Considers it to Be Illegal to Seal Mtatsminda Park

November 21, 2007

According to John Alice, the consultant for the Mtatsminda Park Project, the police and the representatives of Tbilisi City Hall illegally sealed the park on November 7.

Alice declares that the statement of Tbilisi City Hall that the park is not completed, does not coincide with the truth, because Mtatsminda Park opened on September 2007 and approximately 80,000 people visited the park during September and October.

Alice stated that if the park opens without experienced management, well-equipped staff and technical inspections, the visitors of the park will be at a risk. In particular, the use of the attractions will not be safe without monitoring by qualified management.

Alice declares that if this park continues operating under the supervision of another company, “Links”, which was implementing the project, will not be responsible for the safety of visitors.

John Alice considers the use of attractions without the supervision of company “Links” to be illegal. As he states, company “Links” has every right reclaim its attractions and technical equipment.

Please note that Company “Links” belongs to Arkadi (Badri) Patarkacishvili.
