Badri Patarkatsishvili Made Comments on Probable Resuming of “Imedi” Broadcasting

December 6, 2007

Presidential candidate Badri Patarkatsishvili thinks that the decision of the National Commission of Communications on resuming the broadcasting of the “Imedi TV” is the result of the Georgian population’s request. It demonstrated that authorities cannot hinder the people on their way to freedom.

“I have particular attitude to the decision. Initially, the God blessed me to fulfill my dream to give “Imedi” (hope) to people and I established a TV Company “Imedi”. Then professional and brave journalists of the company proved the principal thesis of the testimony: “In the beginning was the Word…” said Patarkatsishvili.

Businessman thinks that the whole Georgia was looking forward to the day and the government gave in because “Saakashvili’s governance ended when he opposed his people.” “We are not cattle you hit with clubs and poison with gas. The events of November 7 demonstrated that the will of Georgian population is above all; that is to live in civilized, democratic and independent society. It is our choice and we are capable to protect it,” said Patarkatsishvili.
