Population of Adjaratskali Demands Imedi Broadcasting

December 18, 2007

Six villages of the Adjaratskali County cannot watch Imedi broadcasting.

According to the population, the City Council had its transmitter on the mast: “Since the Imedi broadcasting has been restored the local population cannot watch Imedi. We had a mast which received the signals of “Adjara TV”, “Rustavi 2” and “Imedi”. The transmitter was taken off when Imedi broadcasting started again. If the mast required some repairs then why was it not taken down for repairs before?” - asks Otar Turmanidze, an Adjaratskali resident.

The local population approached the election headquarters of Badri Patarkatsishvili and 65 people handed in their signatures. According to the members of the headquarters Imedi broadcasting was purposely blocked.
