February 4, 2008
Journalist Gela Mtivlishvili blames the boardof Kakheti branch of the Constitutional Security Department for intimidation. Mtivlishvili reported to the Human Rights Center that the officials from the CSD chase and prevent him from his activities.

“They watched me before elections, but afterwards Shalva Imerlishvili and other officials from the CSD appear near my office almost every day. They control me when I am driving in car. They register names of all respondents I interview and then terrorize them. Consequently, I have coped with problems several times and I could not finish several journalistic investigations. The employees of the CSD got so impudent that they try to find out my location and work plan even from my colleagues. They spread various degrading information to discredit me as a journalist”, stated Mtivlishvili.

The journalist demands law enforcers to stop his chasing and intimidation. He is ready to answer any questions if these people have regarding his activities.

It is noteworthy that Mtivlishvili was harassed several times last year. He was attacked several times; once he was attacked with the intention of murder. The criminal investigations on the incidents started at Kakheti Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; however none of them are investigated through yet.
