Founders of the “Fellowship Tabukashvili 88” Will Hold Protest Demonstration in front of the State Chancellery

February 5, 2008
Tomorrow, founders of the Individual Building Company “Fellowship Tabukashvili 88” will hold protest demonstration in front of the State Chancellery in Tbilisi.

Tina Bujiashvili, one of the founders, reported to the Medianews that the demonstrators oppose the chairperson of the fellowship, Zurab Tabukashvili who expelled fifty founders from the fellowship and consequently, the families of these people will remain homeless.”

The argument is about the under-construction residential building behind the Tbilisi City Hall in Saakadze Square; the building is built for the founders of the “Fellowship Tabukashvili 88”. However, Tina Bujiashvili  stated that Zurab Tabukashvili expelled fifty members of the fellowship out of total 110 for various reasons at various times”. Consequently these people will not receive flats in the new residential building.

“Fellowship members contributed considerable sums in the construction of the building; but now Zurab Tabukashvili wants to appropriate the space of fifty families in order to sell them to other people,” said Bujiashvili.

Bujiashvili added that illegally expelled founders of the fellowship have already appealed to the court and prosecutor’s office. However, their appeals were not reacted on yet. Tomorrow they will demand meeting with the Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili.
