Categories of Georgian Citizens to cross to Russia without visas

Davit Bakradze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia stated that Mikhail Saakashvili, President of Georgia and Vladimir Putin, President of Russia agreed on several issues in Moscow on February 21, 2008 meeting. 

The presidents agreed that the air travel among Georgia and Russia will be re-established and some categories of Georgian citizens can now be able to travel to Russia without the need of a visa at all.

The presidents also agreed that Georgian and Russian experts will start negotiations Georgian lifting embargo on Georgian products.

The agreement was also reached on starting rehabilitation of Zemo Larsi highway in order to renew car travel between the Russian Federation and Georgia.

Davit Barbakadze, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia clarified that very soon it would be possible to send mail to Russia and even get mail in return.

Davit Barbakadze said that the two presidents discussed the issue of Russia’s potential integration into the World Trade Organization.
