Malkhaz Jangirashvili, Slim Attorney Freed from Detention

April 23, 2008

Malkhaz Jangirashvili, the attorney who was suspected in using and keeping drugs was released from a preliminary detention insulator cell earlier today.

According to the information of Gela Nikolaishvili, the attorney of Jungirashvili, forensic experts later determined that Jungirashvili’s blood did not include drugs after all.

Nikolaishvili said that Jungirashvili had a very acute pain in his leg and he had syringe of full of Baralgini and Dimedroli in his pocket, which is natural for the treatment of such pain. However, those working with the patrol police suspected that it was illegal drugs and took him into custody. Many others, however, thought that his arrest was politically motivated.

Malkhaz Jangirashvili was arrested by patrol police employees near a Tbilisi hospital on April 21
