Tomorrow Trade Union will Protest in Centre of Tbilisi

The Georgian Trade Union demands to change Labor Code. Regarding the situation the Trade Union petitioned to Lado Gurgenidze, Georgian Prime-Minister on April 22 2008, though without any success.

Irakli Petriashvili, the chairperson of the Trade Union, stated at the press-conference today that the Trade Union will hold theatrical manifestation from Rose Square to the Parliament’s Building. More than 15 thousand members of the Trade Union and actors will take part in the performance. They will perform mini-skits about social problems. At the end of the demonstration Union of Georgian Trade Unions will enact its Manifest of 1st May.

1st May is celebrated in Georgia and in 150 countries of the world with social demands and demonstrations. This year the demonstration throughout the world will have the slogan “Honorable Labor”.

The demonstration will start at 3:00 PM in the Republic Square and will finish at 5:00 PM in front of the Parliament’s Building.
