Patrol Police Detained a Member of the United Opposition

United Opposition reported that Patrol Police arrested Shalva Kuchava, member of Election District # 67 of Marneuli Election Precinct # 22. He is brother of Sofio Kuchava, member of the Precinct Election Commission and election specialist of the Marneuli HQ of the United Opposition He was driving his own car with his sister when he noticed that patrol police was chasing him.

Patrol police detained Shalva Kuchava when he left the HQ of the united opposition as if they wanted just to check operative information. Based on the information Kuchava had received drugs at Wisoli petrol station and he was going to sell it. (Shalva Kuchava really took petrol at the mentioned station, but his sister was with him and none of them had left the car).

After searching, Shalva Kuchava was taken to the Teleti Police Station with chains on his hands. Policemen told Kuchava that he might be planted drugs on for what he could be sent to prison for eight years or even whole life. Member of the opposition party was questioned about his sister too; they inquired where she had been, what she wanted in Marneuli; why she did not work in some other place and so on,” stated the information spread by the united opposition.      

As soon as Shalva Kuchava was delivered at the Teleti police station, policemen undressed the detainee and kept him in custody for some hours illegally. Since law enforcers could not find valid evidences against him Kuchava was set free. Policemen tried to suppress him psychologically and made him spend several hours in the isolator for no grounds.
