Provision of Pensions and Elections Take Place Simultaneously in Zugdidi

May 21, 2008

In Zugdidi’s 67th district’s 27th election section (Zugdidi, Janashia #1) a violation was observed. Election section is not isolated. There are two entrance doors in the room. One is destined for voters, another is used by the branch office of People’s Bank, which provides pensions for refugees. It’s noteworthy, that election day is declared rest day, despite that, People’s Bank located on the territory of election room continues granting pensions. Bank consumers very frequently use  the voter’s door. As George Shervashidze,  People’s Bank representative declared, they forgot that today is rest day. Non – governmental organizations “Constitution’s 42 article” and “The Human Rights Centre” made a complaint on annulment of this district.
