United Opposition Party Member Physically Assaulted

Dachi Djgharkava, a member of the United Opposition ended up in the Ghudushauri Hospital with multiple skin injuries last night. 

He was beaten with bats at the entrance of his house by four unidentified men who work masks. Djgarkava’s health condition is descirbe as being stable for now.

Djgharkava was an obsever on the May 21, 2008 extraordinary parliamentary elections in Khashuri district. The representatives of the United Opposition see  conection between him being an observer and his subsequent beating. Goga Khaindrava and Levan Gachechiladze, the representatives of the United Opposition have already been  to visit Dachi Djgharkava in the hospital.

The doctors state that the victim has multiple bruises over his body and it is necessary for him to remain in hospital for further observation.
