Trade Union Protests National Bank’s Decision

July 7, 2008

Trade Union of employees of Georgian banks and insurance companies are blaming the board of the Georgian National Bank for having passed groundless and discriminative decision, which has resulted into the reduction of nearly 200 employees of the National Bank.

The statement of the Trade Union states the reduction of employees of the bank because of implementing reorganization is a completely groundless excuse. Trade Union categorically protests the decision and calls upon the National Bank’s board to cancel it.

“We support and express our solidarity to the terminated employees and call upon them to continue in their struggle to protect their rights,” states the appeal of the Trade Union of the employees of Georgian banks and insurance companies.
