August 5, 2008

Ioseb Babutsidze and Sandro Chulukhidze, policemen from Didi Liakhvi Gorge, are accused for having raped sixteen-year-old girl, a resident of the village of Kurta. Although criminal investigation was launched on the incident the detainees were released on the next day.

Irma K., the mother of the victim, said the detainees were set free because biological expertise was not carried out. The parents of the girl claim that the investigation is tendentious. Shida Kartli regional department of the Internal Ministry is in charge of the case.
