Givi Targamadze, head of Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security considers that Tsotne Gamsakhurdia’s arrival in Georgia in this situation was a provocation on his part.
He considers that Gamsakhurdia was instructed by Russian Special Forces. He says his allegation can be proved by the telephone conversation tapes publicized in November, 2007.
Givi Targamadze states that Georgian law enforcers are more attentive regarding the current situation. However, it does not mean that someone is politically persecuted.
The representatives of MIA Counterintelligence Department arrested Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, son of first president of Georgia in September 3rd at the Tbilisi International Airport.
