“Kakheti Power Distribution Company” Is Blamed for Extortion of Money

October 6, 2008

Subscribers from Gurjaani, Kakheti region, blame JSC “Kakheti Power Distribution Company” for extortion. The subscribers reported to the Human Rights Center that they used the same amount of electricity in September as during previous months but now company demands them to pay double prices for the consumed electricity.

“I have never spent the electricity more than for 8-10 GEL in 2008; but when I came to the bank to pay the bill the charge turned out 23 GEL. I used the electricity as economically in September as in previous months but they charged us incorrectly,” said Tina Arjevanishvili, a subscriber.

Other subscribers share the same complaints.

Regarding the complaints of the population the service center of the JSC “Kakheti Power Distribution Company” refrains from making any comments.
