Only Abkhazian Passports Holders Allowed to Cross Enguri River

Abkhazian separatists intend to lockdown the administrative border between Abkhazia and Samegrelo region. After it is locked only those people will be allowed to cross the border that will be holders of Abkhazian passport and other special permits; the prices on permits will be estimated according to the duration of the stay.
Raul Kiria, the head of Abkhazian Media Center reported to the Medianews, that according to their information the price for three-month permit will be 5,000 Russian rubles; six-month permit will cost 10,000 rubles. If a person crosses the border after the permit expires the fine for the violation will be from 15, 000 to 20, 000 Russian rubles.
If a person, unregistered in Abkhazia, travels to Abkhazia from Samegrelo, s/he will be imprisoned for upwards of 6 months.
A resident of the village of Otobaia in Gali district stated to the Medianews that the issue of the locked borders is just being discussed on the Abkhazian side.
