Sozar Subari demands Head of Forensic Analysis Bureau held Accountable

According to the Public Defender’s Press Department, Nikoloz Makharadze, a prisoner has been hunger striking in the penitentiary department hospital for prisoners since October 21, 2008.

A representative of the Public Defender visited the prisoner. Makharadze’s health conditions has become extremely grave. Amid many diseases the prisoner is suffering from hunger striking is dangerous for Makharadze’s health.

Makharadze is demanding that the order of the Chamber for Criminal Cases within Tbilisi Criminal Court of Appeals dating September 25, 2008 be honored and forensic analysis of Makharadze’s health condition be examined by the National Bureau for Forensic Analysis.

The Public Defender of Georgia considers that Mamuka Mamaladze, the head of the National Bureau for Forensic Analysis did not follow the court order. Consequently, he violated Article 381 of the Criminal Code of Georgia that is failure in executing court orders or preventing in court order execution. It is noteworthy that failure in executing court orders or preventing in court order execution is a serious criminal offence.
