Sighnaghi Based Nursery Schools Renewed Working Two Months Later

November 11, 2008
Sighnaghi district nursery schools renewed working two months later. Reportedly, in October 240 employees of the nursery schools were on unpaid holidays according to the order of the administration of the Union of Nursery Schools. They have not received their salary arrears of September 2008.

Officials from the union of nursery schools in Sighnaghi district explained that they had sent employees on unpaid holidays according to the order of former district governor; the latter had explained there was not enough fund in the budget to pay the salaries. Nino Tukhashvili, the director of the union, does not deny that nursery schools did not work in September; however, since officially it was working month the employees should receive salaries though have not received yet.

Nodar Kochlamazashvili, new Sighnaghi district governor, states he had no information about the problem.
