West Georgian Regional Prosecutor’s Office Accuses Prisoners of Prison Break

Some prisoners who were sentenced for having made an break from Khoni Colony on August 11, 2008 are now serving out their time at the Kutaisi Prison # 2. The escaped prisoners who surrendered to law enforcers in several days after the event  are counted among them having to serve additional time.

However, Nika Gvaramia, the former Minister of Justice promised that those prisoners who surrendered on their own to law enforcers would not face heavy sentences. It is now clear that this promise was not kept. Assumedly, the escaped prisoners will face heavy sentences. The West Georgian Regional Prosecutor’s Office accuses them in organizing the prison break according the Manana Managadze, head of Public Control Group of Kutaisi Prison #2.
