“GurjaanGas” Makes Subscribers to Change Chinese Meters

December 4, 2008

“GurjaanGas” makes subscribers to change the meters produced in China. The Gas Distribution Company states that Chinese meters are of low quality. Subscribers of the “GurjaaniGas” have informed us about the latest demand.

Subscribers reported that if they do not obey the demands of the gas distribution company and do not immediately change Chinese meters they will have gas supply cut in several days.

Giorgi Machavariani, director of “GurjaanGas” stated that the gas supply will be cut not only for those subscribers who have Chinese meters but the whole district will be cut off where at least one subscriber still has Chinese meter. Machavariani says that these meters do not calculate the actual amount of spent gas and the company takes a lost for underreporting.

It must be pointed out that subscribers were forced to install Chinese meters short time ago. Because of hard social situation they cannot afford to change them so soon. Their only option, if the natural gas supply is cut off to subscribers, customers are threatening organized protest demonstrations.
