Gela Mtivlishvili, Kakheti

Over one hundred teachers of Gurjaani Musical Schools demand that they be paid their salary arrears. As teachers reported to the Human Rights Center, despite promises made by the local authority they still have not received the salaries dating back to July 2008 as yet.

The Union of Gurjaani Musical Schools is funded from local budget. Davit Macharashvili, head of the Culture Department of the Gurjaani municipality board, explained that teachers who have not been paid their salaries and arrears will be paid in the nearest future.
