Expenses of the District Administration Office Was Increased At the Expense of Abolishing Social Programs

Based on the resolution issued on December 5 2008 Gurjaani Municipality Board abolished the program of funding hospital and out-patient medical treatment of the impoverished population of the district.

Based on the same resolution funding of social and healthcare programs, as well as allowances for new-born children and homeless people were also cancelled.

However, salaries of the employees at the district administrative office, expenses for sport activities and other events were increased.

Kote Napireli, the chairperson of the Financial-Budget Committee of the Municipality Board, states that similar amendments were introduced to the budget with majority votes and there was nothing illegal in their decision.
