Part of Perevi Resident Is Afraid to Return into the Village

January 12, 2009

The inhabitants of Perevi village, Sachkhere district avoid returning to the village. Children and young people left the village when Russian occupational forces returned to the village with five folded military forces and armored technique after having left Perevi for one day.

Zurab Tsertsvadze, Sachkhere District Governor, reported to the news agency Medianews that part of the population returned to the village but another part is still unwilling to return.

“Although the situation is more or less stable in the village and there are no restrictions on entering the village, people are still scared and refuse to return,” said Zurab Tsertsvadze to Medianews.
