According to the President’s resolution, the salaries of the officials at municipality boards and regional administrations are increased.

The salary of the deputy district governor will change from 710 GEL into 900 GEL. Based on the same resolution municipality boards are allowed to increase the salaries of the heads of various departments of the local authority and previous 570 GEL will change into 700 GEL. Based on the resolution the salaries of commission chairperson at the municipality boards and chairpersons of the fractions in the municipality boards will be increased from 450 GEL to 650 GEL. Territorial representatives of administrative boards will have their salaries changed from 320 GEL into 400 GEL. Junior public officials will have their salaries increased from 320 GEL up to 420 GEL.

Non-governmental organizations working in Kakheti region negatively assess the increased salaries of local public officials. “Their previous salaries were higher in comparison to the activities they carried out in the region because in fact they do not do anything,” said representatives of the Kakheti based NGO Club.
