Labor Party Members Held a Protest Demonstration in front of the Court House demanding the Release of Their Party Member

The members of Labor Party demand release of Archil Benidze, member of their party. The Labor Party members held a protest demonstration in front of the Tbilisi City Court for this purpose.

Shalva Natelashvili, the leader of the Labor Party, said during the protest demonstration that Archil Benidze is last political prisoner of Mikheil Saakashvili; president of Georgia will replace Benidze in the cell soon.

“Mikheil Saakashvili will terminate his political life soon. He is in death agony. Therefore, I am saying that murderer Saakashvili, murderer Merabishvili and murderer brothers Akhalaias will be placed in the custody where Archil Benidze is being incarcerated now,” said Shalva Natelashvili.
Archil Benidze was arrested 6 months ago under the charge of money laundry. If his charge is proved he is facing prison term of 7-10 years. The attorneys of Archil Benidze applied to the judge with the request to interrogate Shalva Natelashvili as a witness but the appeal was not uphold.

The trial on Archil Benidze’s case was scheduled on January 22 but it was canceled to January 29 as the witnesses did not show up.
