Massive Dismissal Started in Adjara Autonomous Republic

February 5, 2009

Approximately 50 employees of Energo-Pro Georgia Adjara Branch were dismissed from their positions. The employees were informed about the dismissal only two days in advance when they were demanded to sign the orders on their dismissal. Givi Dolidze is one of dismissed employees.

“I had a contract which was valid until August 2009 but I was dismissed now. No one told me why I was dismissed. No one has given any compensation too,” said Dolidze.

Dodo Mekvabishvili, the chairperson of Adjara branch of Trade Union of Georgia made a special statement yesterday on massive dismissal of employees. The Trade Union demands compensations for the dismissed people.
