Lawyer Marine Kakauridze Speaks about the Detention of the Supporter of the “Democratic Movement for the United Georgia”

Lawyer Marine Kakauridze spread information about the detention of the supporter of the “Democratic Movement for the United Georgia”, political party of Nino Burjanadze, former chairperson of the parliament of Georgia. Giorgi Kobakhidze was arrested for drug-addiction and illegal possession of side arms.

“This detention is political. Kobakhidze supported Nino Burjanadze’s party and participated in the demonstrations organized by this party. He attended the demonstration in front of the building of Special Operative Department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs to support the supporters of Burjanadze’s party. “He had neither side-arms nor he was under influence of narcotics,” stated Kakauridze and added that the detainee will be charged today. According to the information Giorgi Kobakhidze was arrested on March 30 in Tbilisi. Nino Burjanadze’s party has not made comment regarding this detention yet.
