April 6, 2009

Coalition of non-governmental organizations, Trade Union of Lawyers and International Association of Journalists intend to start implementation of the project “Community Defender” since April 7.

Within the project the organizations will monitor the protest demonstrations within 20 days. A lawyer, a human rights defender and a camera-man will drive in one car permanently and will re-check the information about human rights violations committed by the government at the scene of incident.

Nana Kakabadze, chairperson of the non-governmental organizations Political Prisoners for Human Rights, stated they will observe every human right violation and will provide victims with legal assistance.

In addition to that, victims can call on hot-line in the case of human rights violation; the numbers of the hot-line are: 890 108 108 or 890 109 109
