Human Rights Center Created Two New Websites

April 6, 2009

The non-governmental organization Human Rights Center has created two new websites: www.hridc.org  and www.chechenrefugees.info. Information about human rights will be published on the website www.hridc.org .  The site will actively work on covering the protest demonstration on April 9 and will try to publish information about every violation observed during the demonstration. www.hridc.org is a trilingual website; the information on it will be published in the Georgian, English and Abkhazian languages. The Human Rights Center is the first non-governmental organization which has created a website in the Abkhazian language. The Center calls upon other Georgian NGOs to join the initiative. It must be pointed out that similar practice is not new for the Center; www.apsni.org was created by the Human Rights Center last year where people can be introduced to Georgian-Abkhazian issues in Georgian, English and Abkhazian languages as well.

As for the second new website, www.chechenrefugees.info, it aims to provide for the protection of the human rights of Chechen refugees. The website intends to provide daily updated information to government agencies and non-governmental organizations working on the issues of potential refugees and refugee status.
