Kvemo Kartli Police Detained 60 Members and Activists of the “Democratic Movement for the United Georgia”

Last night, police in Kvemo Kartli detained nearly 60 members and activists of the Democratic Movement for the United Georgia. The Interpressnews was informed about the fact from the party.

According to the political party young people were detained in Kvemo Kartli, mostly in Rustavi the regional center of Kvemo Kartli. It was only after the detention that the police started to find out whether the detainees had any connection with Burjanadze’s party. The activists who are members of the opposition party are still in detention while the rest of the young detainees, who were not members of the political party, were set free,

In addition to that, as the press-center of the political party reported to the Interpressnews, one of the detainees was forced out of his own car and sent to jail for 20 days only because he was using foul language at the entrance to the residential building.
