Two Members of the Youth Branch of the Conservative Party Were Beaten by Patrol Policemen

April 23, 2009

Two members of the Youth Branch of the Conservative Party were beaten by patrol policemen; the rubbish truck hired by the opposition parties and its driver were kidnapped. Bidzina Gujabidze, member of the Conservative Party reported the News Agency “Pirveli” about the incident. According to him, the opposition parties had hired a rubbish truck to clean the Rustaveli Avenue from the mess. “As it was reported, Tbilisi City Hall refused to clean the Rustaveli Avenue so we decided to clean it ourselves and hired the car. When the rubbish truck was being loaded by rubbish near the Avlabari Underground Station, patrol police stopped the car and beat the members of our youth branch Giorgi Makashvili and Vakho Nebshveridze. The rubbish truck disappeared with its driver. We tried to speak with the policemen but in vain. Despite the incident we continue cleaning the area and soon we will clean the country from the political rubbish too,” said Gujabidze.

The mobile phone of the hired driver of the rubbish-truck is unavailable so the members of the Conservative Party do not know where he is.
