Movement “Students for a Worthy Georgia” Threatens with Student Rallies

May 5, 2009

The movement “Students for a Worthy Georgia” threatens with a general student rally. “10 days ago we submitted a complaint to the Public Broadcasting where we stated that the channel is biased and demanded to establish public monitoring. After that, Levan Gakheladze, deputy director general of the PB and Gia Chanturia, member of the Board of Trustees of the PB met us and promised to satisfy our complaint. They also promised to establish to prepare a program “Public Monitoring,” which would be presented by an anchor who will be elected by us. Experts will be invited after the program who will assess the program. However this promise was not kept. We will not allow anybody to neglect the wish of the students and we will hold rallies every day! Our action will be radical, but within frame of the constitution,” said a member of the movement Murman Pataria.

17 high schools of Georgia are members of the Movement “Student for Worthy Georgia.”
