The Court will Review A Protocol for Vano Merabishvili Issued by The Public Defender

The court will review a protocol issued by the Public Defender about violation of the law by Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili. As the Office of the Public Defender informed interpressnews, the protocol is going to be reviewed today after15 p.m.

Public Defender Sozar Subari created the protocol against Vano Merabisvili on May 6. The protocol about breaking law is the result of Vano Merabishvili having ignored the demand of Public Defender.

On April 10, 2009 the Public Defender applied to the Minister of Internal Affairs and asked the Minister to provide him with all video records taken near the Parliament Building, on after 12 p.m. on April 9, 2009.  According to the Office of the Public Defender, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Ministry did not fulfill the demand of the Public Defender and did not reply. This violates clause #173, paragraph #4 of the Georgian Administrative Code. The fine is from 800 GEL to 2000 GEL.

According to the Office of the Public Defender, Vano Merabisvili did not attend the process of drawing the protocol, so it was sent to him. The original record, it was sent to the Board of Administrative Court.
