Georgian Public Defender Sozar Subari Petitions to Peter Semneb

May 27, 2009

Sozar Subari petitioned to Peter Semneb and requested to investigate the violations of human rights in Georgia. He made the application at the meeting with the special representative of the EU. The public defender thought that the only way to show the violations of human rights in Georgia and to react upon them was to involve the international community. Only the influence and demand of the international community can expose the violations of human rights and to take the relevant measures – stated Sozar Subari. The incidents which happened from April 9 till today are the facts of beating citizens and violations of human rights. These incidents are still beyond justice and legal investigation.

Peter Semneb has returned to Tbilisi and resumed the meetings with the parliamentary opposition as well as with the representatives of the government.
