Union of Journalists “Obiektivi” Continues Protest Rallies

June 11, 2009

Union of Journalists “Obiektivi” continues protest rallies with slogans “Deprived”, “Shame on You.”

Members of the Union together with the non-governmental organizations that support them organized a rally in front of the Hotel “Iveria” near the ruins of the residential building that was dismantled two years ago in Tabukashvili Street.

They left the posters in the street with following slogans: “Deprived”, “Shame on You.”

Irma Inashvili, head of the “Obiektivi” stated in her interview with the Interpressnews that Hotel “Iveria” belongs to the Company “Cartu Group” that is run by the people close to the government. However, governmental officials claim the hotel belongs to Kazakh Company and it is false.

Irma Inashvili made a comment on the residential building that was destroyed in Tabukashvili Street and said that this building was pulled down illegally by the government.

Representatives of the “Obiektivi” intend rallies in front of the TV Company “Imedi” and Mtatsminda Park. Soon, they will move to the regions of Georgia and organize rallies there too.
