Mothers of Detainees and Opposition Plan Protest Rally Today

“Today at 3 PM mothers of detainees (opposition supporters) and opposition are going to hold a protest action at the Tbilisi Main Police Department,” said Bidzina Gujabidze, a representative of the Conservative Party. According to him, doctors are not allowed to examine the health condition of the detainees and provide them with medical treatment. Reportedly, the health condition of the detainees is grave.

Izo Mikeladze, one of the mothers of the detainees made a speech at the protest rally and called upon the other mothers to take part in the action they are going to hold at the building of the Tbilisi Main Police Department. According to her, they will assemble at Maiakovski monument and afterwards they will march to the Main Tbilisi Police Department. The protest rally’s aim is to support the young detainees.
