The Movement for a Fair Georgia Blames the Government for Stopping Telecasts by the TV Company “Rioni”

June 19, 2009

The Movement for a Fair Georgia blames the government for stopping telecasts by the TV Company “Rioni”. According to the information released by the press center of the Movement, the Imereti regional organization of the Moment was established yesterday. The leader of the Movement was invited to the telecast to talk about this and different issues but the TV Company was not provided with electricity and the telecast was stopped.

“This is not the first time when the government blocked unwelcome opponents in such a way”, - said representatives of the Movement. They called upon the Imereti regional government as well as the central government to stop preventing the mass media from attending to their duties.

The representatives of the Movement for the Fair Georgia are sure that the government fighting against its opponents by such prohibited methods as stopping TV broadcasts will work against the government.
