Public Defender Speaks about Repressive Regime in the Country

According to the Public Defender, finding bugs in the offices of the opposition parties demonstrates that repressive regime is in the country. According to his statement, the repressive regime was based on slander, bugging and arresting.

He stated he was not surprised that bugs were found in the offices of political parties because he was sure that such apparatus were fixed in the offices of almost every opposition party and NGO.

“This fact did not surprise me. This happened in the offices of each parties and NGOs before. On November 7, the MIA released records which made clear that the Prime Minister and MPs were bugged. Afterwards the President recognized this fact but although he said it was not a crime – We had to show moral faces of these people. They should be responsible for it because it was illegal”, mentioned the Georgian Public Defender Sozar Subari.

According to him, ordinary man could not buy the apparatus which was found in the offices of the political parties.

“All these apparatus are numbered and the MIA can easily find out when and who bought this apparatus”, explained the Public Defender.

The bug was found in the offices of Conservative Party and Georgian Way.
