Doctors Are Forced to Take Unpaid Vacation

July 2, 2009

Medical Personnel of Gurjaani District Hospital are forced to take unpaid vacation.

According to doctors, Gela Orvelashvili, chief doctor of the hospital, informed them about the news. Nothing similar has ever happened before. “Orvelashvili stated if we did not want to take the vacation, we could stay at hospital but he would not be able to pay the salary. He added he would not give salary either if we take the vacation,” said the doctors.

Gela Orvelashvili, the chief doctor, neither denies the accusations of the personnel nor confirms it. According to him, some of the personnel should really have to take the unpaid vacaiton.

120 people work at Gurjaani District Hospital.
