Families of Political Prisoners Request Release of Their Relatives before Joseph Biden Visits Georgia

Families of the political prisoners request the release of their relatives.

Zakaria Kutsnashvili, son of one of the prisoners and representative of the NGO “Law for People”, announced the request at the conference at the Public Defender’s office.

According to him, if number of detainees on political grounds was not over 30 before April 9, now their number increased three times. 92 people are arrested according to criminal and administrative laws. According to Kutsnashvili, they intended to begin coordinative fight with other political parties and their request is to release political prisoners before US Vice-president Biden visits Georgia.

“Number of arrested people on political grounds has reached unprecedented level. We apply to international organizations and foreign governments to help us to release innocent people”, stated Zakaria Kutsnashvili.
