Frontier-Guards Abandoned the Border

July 20, 2009

Georgian guards do not control Georgia-Azerbaijan border close to the Davit-Gareji Monastery.

Residents of the village of Udabno, located close to the Davit-Gareji Monastery, said Georgian border-guards left the border two months ago. According to them, only Azerbaijan border-guards stay on the post at the moment.

Ministry of Internal Affairs does not confirm the fact.
