Journalist Zviad Koridze Hopes to Become Director- General of GPB

Journalist Zviad Koridze is planning to apply for the position of a Director-General of the Georgian Public Broadcasting.

Koridze said that he would bring his application to the Public Broadcasting today, before the deadline for submitingapplications for the position of Director-General is over.

Gia Chanturia, the interim Director- General of GPB and Erosi Kitsmarishvili, the former ambassador of Georgia to Russia, will apply for the position as well.

Deadline for the submiting  applications is 18:00 p.m.  on August 3,2009.

Lali Moroshkina, Bachuki Bakhtadze and Marina Salukvadze have already applied.

The competition will consist of two parts. In the  the first part the documents from all applicants will be discussed and the successful candidates will be selected by secret ballot of the GPB Board of Trustees.The names of candidates who passed into the second part will be announced on August 6.  The interviews with them will be held on August 7 and 8.

The name of the new Director-General of GPB will be announced on August 10 when the members of GPB Board of Trustees will cast secret ballots. The winner will start working not later than August 20.

The session of the GPB Board of Trustees will be held today on which the board will approve the procedure for holding secret balloting.
