Eka Beselia’s Son and Brother Detained in Kobuleti

The representatives of the Kobuleti District Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, arrested Rati Milorava, Valeri Kirvalidze, Sergo Beselia and Roin Tsagareli.  Rati Milorava is the son of Eka Beselia, leader of the political party Movement for United Georgia and Sergo Beselia is Eka Beselia’s brother.

According to the MIA, the detainees insulted and assaulted a citizen Davit Japaridze on August 19, 2009 in Kobuleti. The victim Davit Japaridze claims that the conflict started between him and the detainees in a cafe “Bar Elza”. He and his wife were insulted there. Then they started fighting. The employees of the café called the police.

The MIA informs that the detainees resisted arrest. They insulted and assaulted the police officers.

A case has been initiated regarding hooliganism under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
